CD Projekt Red’s lead PR manager Radek Grabowski has confirmed that the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to release in the 2nd half of this year.
It was September last year when CD Projekt Red announced its plans to create a standalone next-gen version of The Witcher 3 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5. They described it as a “visually and technically enhanced” version which will feature “ray tracing and faster loading times – across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content”. This next-gen version will be available as a standalone purchase but will also be available as a free update for those who already own the game (so if you somehow haven’t picked it up yet, now is the time).

This was announced as part of a strategy presentation which also saw CD Projekt Red map out its plans to develop multiple AAA titles at the same time based around the ‘Cyberpunk’ and ‘The Witcher’ franchises with an expanded staff split into cross-functional teams.
They also revealed their plans to change their marketing strategy to “much shorter” marketing campaigns closer to a game’s release date. Projekt Red’s executive Michal Naowakaowski said they had “learned many things from our marketing and PR campaigns for ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ and see things that need to change in the future.”
