FFXIV stress test to be performed this week on Japanese Data Centre

Ahead of the release of the Final Fantasy XIV expansion Endwalker, Square Enix will perform a stress test on the Japanese Data Centre Mana. The test will run on Friday, 27th August at 12:30 BST to check the stability of their servers in the event of a large influx of players.

Interestingly this stress test will not be performed in North American or European Data Centers. In recent months FFXIV has experienced much higher levels of activity in their western servers, most likely due to popular World of Warcraft streamers such as Asmongold publicly moving to the game. Due to this dramatic increase in population, Square are confident they have sufficient data already on how to manage strain on their NA and EU servers.

Square has also requested the assistance of Mana Data Centre players themselves. They have asked those who wish to participate to tune into their Twitch and YouTube channels where Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida will be providing instructions to players on how to help via live stream.
